Principal's MessageTop of Page

The Monson Sultana-Joint Union Elementary School District holds a strong commitment to its community. The district is committed to providing an excellent education for all students, while at the same time providing a caring  and “child centered”
learning environment.

It is the districts desire to build strong and effective parent and community involvement so as to directly help all students in our school. Information will be made available to our families through various methods of communication in addition to this web page.

Monson-Sultana School has always been thought of as the small little school with a great music program. Yes this is true we are small and we do have a great music program. We also have many others that are great and we want you to enjoy each and everyone of them. Parent participation and providing your child with a great attitude about school is my request for you as parents. If we can all work together on attitude, yours, mine, and our childrens, we will be able to overcome any challenge together.

Lets have a great school year  together!!!

Safe Schools PlanTop of Page

Our school has a comprehensive, up-to-date safety plan in place to address a variety of emergency conditions. The plans are reinforced through drills with students and at regular meetings of staff. We are currently updating our plan for 2008 and the revised version will be available from the office this spring.

Our school disaster plan includes emergency procedures in case of:
  • Traumatic Incidents
  • Imminent Danger—Code Red
  • Evacuation
  • Civil Defense/Disorder
  • Bomb Threat/ Bomb Emergency
  • Earthquake
  • Chemical Spill
  • Crime in Progress
  • Fire/Explosion

We utilize a state of the art communications system provided by Notification Technologies Inc. that enables us to call every student's home in a matter of minutes in the event of an emergency.

On-going training increases our ability to deal with conflict, anger, and other threats to safety. Our plan stresses prevention; our goal is to be prepared.

Your children are surrounded daily by professionals who have dedicated their lives to helping their students. In the event of an emergency, you can count on these caring individuals to make student safety their first concern.

In most incidents, public safety and emergency management personnel will play a critical role in identifying the specific nature, cause, and extent of the emergency, as will provide guidance to administrators on the appropriate response steps.

If you have questions about your child's safety and school support responses, please contact your principal. Your understanding, support, and cooperation are vital as we take these precautionary actions on behalf of our students.
