Monson-Sultana School students love to sing! Every K-5 student is actively involved in music and 95% of students entering 6th grade audition for the 6-8th grade choirs. The 6-8th grade choirs have received consistent Superior Ratings at CMEA Festivals, have performed at The CMEA Convention in Sacramento, The ACDA Western Division Convention Interest Session in Anaheim, Magic Music Days at Disneyland, and students have performed with County Honor Choirs as well as 2 ACDA Western Division Honor Choirs and 2 National ACDA Honor Choir. The Music Department has been featured in an educational DVD produced by The State of California Board of Education and have performed at many community events including The Performing Arts Council Summit and for The Tulare County Women's Trade Club which included 600 women from Tulare County.
Monson-Sultana School is a true example of what can happen when there is discipline and a high standard for excellence. It is proof that a successful music program is attainable in a small rural community.
